The Chevrolet Global Indian Music Awards announce India's Music Icon, Asha Bhosle as Goodwill Ambassador

Mumbai, 2nd November, 2010: Asha Bhosle was today announced as the Goodwill Ambassador of the Chevrolet Global Indian Music Awards, perfectly embodying Indian music in India. An icon and inspiration to millions across the nation, her varied body of work has changed the landscape of music in India, making her the perfect fit for the inaugural multi-genre awards, Chevrolet GIMA, which is powered by Micromax Mobile.

An initiative of Wizcraft International, the Chevrolet GIMA powered by Micromax, is supported by IMI, T-Series, MCAI, SAI and other key constituents of the music industry. The inaugural edition of the Awards will be presented at an exclusive ceremony on the 10th of November, 2010 defining a benchmark of musical excellence.

The Chevrolet GIMA trophy was unveiled at Blue Frog, today at the hands of GIMA Goodwill Ambassador, Asha Bhosle. The symbol of GIMA is a shell from which the sounds of the oceans and the wind, the natural harmony of nature emanate. Seven strokes takes the shape of a conch shell symbolizing the seven notes in music.
